Terms of Service
These terms cover ordering from Sugar Jar by Jarrar, a home bakery in Amman, Jordan. By placing an order you agree to them. They are written plainly on purpose — if anything is unclear, ask us on WhatsApp before you order.
How an order works
- You build a jar on the site — no account needed to browse or add cookies.
- To order, you sign in or create an account. Your jar is kept while you do.
- You check your delivery details, which fill in from your account.
- You press Place order. It goes straight to our kitchen and you get an order number.
- We call you to confirm the items, the total and a delivery time.
You are responsible for keeping your password to yourself and for orders placed from your account. If you think someone else has got into it, change your password or tell us and we will disable it. If you forget your password, message us and we will send you a one-time link to set a new one — it lasts an hour and works once. We will only send it to the account holder.
An order number means we have received your order, not that we have accepted it. An order is only accepted once we confirm it with you. We may decline or adjust an order — for example if an item has sold out, the address is outside our delivery range, or we are fully booked that day.
Prices and totals
All prices are in Jordanian Dinar (JOD) and include the delivery fee shown at checkout. Prices on the site can change at any time, and the price that applies is the one on your order confirmation.
Every order is priced by our server from our own price list when you place it, so the total on your confirmation is the authoritative one. If a figure shown earlier in your browser ever disagrees with it, the confirmed total is the one that counts.
Payment
Payment is cash on delivery. We take no card or online payments and will never ask you for card, bank or account details. If anyone claiming to be us asks you for those, it is not us — please tell us.
Delivery
We deliver within our service areas in Amman. Delivery times are estimates: everything is baked to order, and traffic and weather happen. Please make sure the address and phone number you give us are correct and that someone can receive the order. If we cannot reach you or nobody is at the address, we may have to return the order and charge for it.
Allergens and food safety
Our cookies are baked in a home kitchen that handles wheat, eggs, dairy, soy, nuts and peanuts. We cannot guarantee that any item is free from traces of these, and we cannot offer an allergen-free environment.
If you have a food allergy or intolerance, put it in the notes field on your order, and message us before you order if it is serious. If your allergy is severe, we would rather you did not risk it. Cookies are best eaten fresh, within a couple of days, and kept sealed at room temperature.
Cancellations and changes
Everything is baked fresh for your order, so tell us as soon as possible if you need to change or cancel. We can normally accommodate changes until we start baking; once baking has begun the order cannot be cancelled.
Because these are fresh perishable goods, we cannot accept returns of items simply because you changed your mind. If there is a problem with an order, message us on WhatsApp and we will do our best to put it right.
Using this site
Please use the site normally and in good faith. Do not attempt to break, overload or probe it, do not place fake or automated orders, and do not copy our photos, recipes, branding or text for your own business. The site's content, images and branding belong to Sugar Jar by Jarrar.
The site is provided as it is. We do our best to keep the menu, prices and availability accurate, but we cannot promise it is always error-free or available without interruption.
Liability
We stand fully behind our food and our responsibility for it. Beyond that, our liability for any single order is limited to the amount you paid for it. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under Jordanian consumer protection law, or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and the courts of Amman have jurisdiction over any dispute. We would much rather sort things out in the chat first — message us and we will make it right.
Changes
We may update these terms; the current version always lives on this page with the date at the top. The terms that apply to your order are the ones published when you placed it.
